Learn IFRS at your own pace

The CICA has made arrangements with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales ( ICAEW) to make its web-based IFRS self study programme available in Canada.

According to the CICA

The programme is self taught and is supported by learning materials consisting of a manual, 12-month access to interactive online learning and an online assessment. This will demonstrate and verify your knowledge and understanding and help you meet IFRS requirements with confidence.

You do not have to be a member or student Chartered Accountant to take this course. Indeed, the notice says that the " course material is relevant to anyone and everyone with an interest in IFRS, and will provide you with a unique resource to enable you to develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject area "

The cost is $995, which includes shipping and handling but not GST.

You would be able to earn up to 70 CPD credit hours by taking this course. You can take a virtual tour to learn more before signing up.

It is a "Certificate"and you can print your final score on "the final assessment". This could be a way to demonstrate to your employer your achievement when your employer provides financial support to take this course.
