Demystifying the SEC IFRS Roadmap

Are you confused about the SEC IFRS Roadmap?

This Thursday November 20 Ernst & Young US is presenting a one hour webinar Journey to IFRS: the SEC's Roadmap from 1.00pm to 2.00 p.m. EST.

If you are confused about the early adoption provisions and the possible mandatory requirement dates this will be useful. You can register for the webinar at the E&Y site. CPE credits are available by watching the session live and fulfilling conditions around responding to polls. If you miss them these sessions are archived. You still have to register but will not be awarded CPE credits.

There has been some early reaction to the Roadmap. This reaction has mostly been in connection with the early adoption provisions. The early adopters, qualifying for early adoption, would have to keep two sets of books and provide information on a US GAAP basis in addition to the IFRS information!

You may find this article from the Journal of Accountancy useful.

UPDATE 9.00 pm
The FEI Financial Reporting blog just posted an article on comments from Chairman Cox at an FEI Conference.
That blog has moved and you may need to sign up for the new feed if you have not already.

UPDATE Nov 19 - see the comment on this post by Bruce Pounder about a webinar on the SEC Roadmap today.

We have only just started to look at this.

Darla,

I just wanted to add that I will be devoting all of my webcast today (Wednesday, Nov. 19) to the SEC's IFRS Roadmap. Start time is 2:00PM Eastern.

My "This Week in Accounting" webcasts are not free, but they are a good value (even better with a 52-week subscription) for anyone who wants to earn CPE credit for learning about what's happening in the accounting profession as it happens. And there's certainly a lot happening these days in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Registration at https://www.societyinsight.com/WebcastDesc.aspx?webcast_id=5389&BrandingID=1483
